



Our Doctors
Dr. Max Katz
Dr. Katz received a Bachelor's Degree
from Georgia State University. After a
successful career in the business world,
he decided to follow a dream and
become a veterinarian. He returned to
school and later obtained his DVM degree
from the Tuskegee University School of
Veterinary Medicine.
Dr. Katz is an active member of the
Georgia Veterinary Medical Association (GVMA)
serving on several committees including those
involved with emergency disaster management
and continuing education planning. He also
serves as the Veterinary Consultant to Golden
Retriever Rescue of Atlanta and writes a column
for the Pyrenean Mastiff Club of America.
Dr. Katz admits that he has a special fondness
for the large breed dogs. When not working,
Dr Katz enjoys cycling, motor sports, and spending
time with his wife, Terri and son, Jamison.
Dr. David Lloyd
Dr. Lloyd joined North Dekalb in the Spring of 1998 after spending eight years in private practice
in Doraville. He began his professional education at the University of Southern Mississippi where
he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry, graduating with highest honors.
Following graduation from USM, Dr. Lloyd was accepted into the College of Veterinary Medicine
at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville. During his senior year, he received recognition from
the American Association of Feline Practitioners for his skills and interest in feline medicine &
surgery and was inducted into Phi Zeta, the honor society of veterinary medicine.
During his professional career in Atlanta, Dr. Lloyd has been active in the Greater Atlanta
Veterinary Medical Society and served as President of the organization. He also spends time
working with various humane groups, especially the Gwinnett Humane Society. Like other
veterinarians in private practice, Dr. Lloyd has areas of special interest. While he enjoys
working with both cats and dogs, he admits that he has a strong interest in feline medicine and
surgery. In his free time, Dr. Lloyd enjoys cycling, camping, home remodeling/repair and
spending time with his wife and their many cats.
Dr. Sylvia Bell
Dr. Bell recently joined the staff of North Dekalb Veterinary Clinic. She brings with her many
years of experience in emergency and critical care medicine. Her transition from treating
serious emergencies to handling day practice has been smooth.

The Staff
Our front desk staff, Cindy, Sandra, and Eileen, keep appointments running
smoothly and keep the clinic records well organized. Shawn, our office manager,
keeps a close eye on the day-to-day details and is responsible for overseeing
our staff and maintaining our inventory. Our Licensed Veterinary Technicians,
Danielle and Tracy, and our veterinary assistants, Rebecca, Malik, and Sandra
W. are responsible for patient care as well as a myriad of other tasks.
We have confidence that our well trained staff can meet and exceed your
expectations with regards to the medical care of your four-legged family
members.
